Ever since he was a young boy, Darth Gray was taught the ways of the Dark Side by his master, a Sith leader of high rank. He was an apprentice. In fact, the only apprentice to his master, for he stayed true to the Sith’s Rule of Two.
His master taught him everything he needed to know. In time, he began developing his skills, mastering various types of combat techniques and coming into possession of his master’s ultimate weapon: the dual light saber. It was only a few years back that he was sent to Planet Earth, to act as a spy, in order to gain information about the planet. Their next action remained to be seen, but the Sith had the power to destruct the Earth’s inhabitants in a flash, for they were mortals with difficult to explain powers.
Darth Gray arrived on Earth years ago. He landed somewhere safe, before making his way into the city to meet some ‘clients’. Fast forward to his most recent shenanigans, and he looked on top of the world, almost certain to kill a boy who meddled with his day.
Kid gulped. Gray was inches away, for he jumped high and wanted to strike from there. Kid managed to slide off to a safer position, but then Gray aggressively wielded his saber in a variety of motions. Melvin was online, but he instructed his protégé to use all his effort to defend.
“Defensive position, Kid,” Melvin was heard saying. “Do not anticipate. Avoid his weapon attacks and move on.”
“Okay,” Kid replied. “But what should I do to stop him?”
“Find the right time to strike him,” Melvin replied firmly. “Use your weapons! You still have your shuriken and stick, do you not?”
Kid realized he brought his weapons in his backpack. Gray struck again, this time his saber hit the ground, forming a small hole. While he pulled his saber off, Kid started throwing the shuriken towards Gray.
However, the Sith apprentice was quick to act. He used his saber to shield himself. In fact, another shuriken was thrown to his path, but he cut it to two using his glowing saber.
Noises could be heard from afar. It looked like the guards were alarmed by the presence of a stranger in the sewers; something Kid does not take very well. He had no time to think about it, for he was busy dealing with Gray, who was becoming increasingly aggressive.
Gray demonstrated more of his power when he shoved Kid to the wall, using his Force push. With a pushing motion using any hand, he could send opponents flying off elsewhere. Luckily, Kid was not flying off and landed on his feet.
This is sooo tough, a reasonably tired Kid thought.
He needed to use the metal staff that Melvin gave to him, and so he took it out of his backpack. Gray stopped for a moment, as if to give his opponent a chance to regain his strength.
With the staff as his weapon, and the saber as Gray’s, Kid struck. He tried to beat Gray’s head up, but the Sith was quick to dodge. Perhaps Kid was inexperienced; he wanted to beat Gray so bad, and thinking it was his time to attack because he defended long enough. A rather immature way of fighting, but Kid is a boy after all.
The staff was used as it should be, but Kid’s inexperience was clear when he fell off while trying to kick his opponent, while using his staff and the surrounding walls as a lever. When Gray got closer to a downed Kid, the boy reached for his staff and held it in front of his chest, trying to save his own life. However, the menacing Sith slashed the staff and divided it into two.
Kid was very shocked, his eyes wide open. Sadly, he could not move fast enough. He was exhausted; injured his elbows and legs during the fall. He was starting to struggle for breath, too, for the sewers started to give out foul smell. To his surprise, Gray did not respond in any way to the smell of dirty flowing sewage water and the rodents’ wastes. To add to Kid’s misery, guards showed up. About four of them, including the two he saw earlier. It looked as if he was cornered.
Looks like this is the end, Kid thought as Gray attempted to finish his downed opponent. I hope mom, dad and sister are happy where they are. He was like a helpless victim when he felt the heat from the saber getting closer, that he could feel it in his heart.
It was at the moment that the saber was flung upwards, inches away from Kid’s small chest, that screams were heard. But they did not come from the guards, who were enjoying every moment when Kid’s life was hanging in the balance. Rather, it came from unusual sources.
“Freeze!” exclaimed Calvin, who appeared in the sewers, against Kid’s orders. He was not alone; Junior was with him, too, so were a crew of armored policemen, ready for action in an evening that was fast turning to night.
“You,” Junior stated. “The one in the black clothes. Put your weapon down and…”
Before he was able to finish his sentence, Gray Force Pushed Junior and some of the policemen, sending them flying across the sewers. Some of them landed in the sewage water. Calvin pulled Junior out of the water, so did other policemen who were not pushed away by the strong Force.
“Disgusting!” Junior screamed.
Suddenly, Gray came up behind Calvin. He had a fierce look on his face, as if angry.
“Look out!” Junior screamed.
Calvin moved away, but Gray struck Junior’s left hand, causing his hand to be cut off. Junior screamed in pain, while Calvin took his pistol out and tried to shoot Gray. He shot several times, but Gray shielded them with his saber, which proved very effective offensively and defensively. Soon, Calvin felt something pulling him up and choking him.
Gray was mimicking a motion of pulling something upwards and then gripping his left hand strongly. He was the one that was choking the life out of the young detective. Gray looked straight to Calvin’s eyes with contempt.
Briefly, a fellow policeman tried to interrupt, but before he was able to do so, the menacing Sith struck him on his stomach with the saber, causing him to fall to the ground and lie motionless. Gray’s shift of attention managed to free Calvin, who bravely performed a crane kick on the Sith, only to be pushed off to the wall.
Kid was witnessing all the mayhem that Gray was causing, but he could not do anything. He saw Calvin lying still, almost motionless, but still breathing. The robot Jon was already out of hiding; it was trying to escape, but did not know where to go.
“Psst…” Kid whispered. “Jon.”
“Young man!” Jon exclaimed.
Kid pulled Jon’s right arm and ran off. Since the police were dealing with Gray and the guards, he thought it was best he save himself, and another, before it is too late.
Some of the guards blocked the way, but Kid used one of his parted staff to put them aside. At the background, policemen were having a fierce battle, as more guards showed up. The Sith Gray was still looking strong, but a bit weary, too, having spent a long time fighting for the evening.
“Where are you taking me?” Jon asked.
“To a safe place,” Kid replied. “And, by the way, my name is Wonderkid.”
“Wonderkid?” Jon exclaimed. “I thought you were some sort of superhero.”
“No time to talk,” Kid replied firmly. “We need to get out of here, fast!”
“All right.” Jon later put itself into standby mode.
After minutes of running, with very short breaks taken to catch his breath, Kid reached the surface. He and Jon left the rusty building. Feeling that they were already safe, Kid released a deep breath and wiped sweat off his forehead. His head was already wet, so was his body.
Then, the largest pothole in the alley opened up. Some sort of platform rotated from where the pothole was, revealing two thugs standing on it. The thugs both had long hair tied to the back. One was a male, the other a female.
“There they are!” one of the thugs screamed while pointing to both Kid and Jon.
Without hesitation, Kid made a run for it. So did Jon. Kid was in front of Jon. One of the thugs shot Jon, but since it was a robot, it did not feel a thing. Instead, it ran out and followed the boy out of the long stretch of pavement in the alley.
Soon, a motorcycle showed up and Kid was told by its rider to hop in. Kid reluctantly obeyed, and the rider sped off. While that was happening, Jon stood still. A thug showed up behind it, attempting to surprise, but Jon accidentally punched him with its hard steel hands while it was waving to Kid.
“Wait for me!” Jon screamed.
